ELIGIBILITY FOR SPP PROGRAM CANADA

  • AGE: up to 25 years (with genuine work exp.)
  • QUALIFICATION: 12th – hsc / all diploma holders (10+3, 10+2+3) / all bachelor degree / all master degree (academic should be above 55 % or minimum 2nd class is must & max. 4 – 6 backlogs)
  • EXPERIENCE: maximum up to 5 years will be valid with genuine work experience
  • IELTS: in academic module, minimum overall 6.0 band require (no band less than 5.5)
  • Overall 6.5 band required for pg programs & programs related to dental, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing & some colleges require overall 7.0 band.
  • COLLEGE FEES: CAD $13,000 to $15,000 for 1 year (2 semesters) tuition fees *depends upon program selected student must have to pay full 1 year / 1 sem tuition fee in advance before applying for visa.
  • PROCESS TIME : 15 to 20 days for visa process

IF APPLYING UNDER SPP CATEGORY

  • Proof of funds: evidence of purchase of a special guaranteed investment certificate (gic) from a participating canadian financial institution (scotia bank), in the amount of cad $10,315 to cover living expenses for first year in canada and evidence of payment for first year / semester tuition fees

IF APPLYING UNDER GENERAL CATEGORY (NON SPP)

  • Students have to fulfil the financial requirement by submitting a copy of the receipt for 1st semester / 1st year tuition fee & a copy of an educational loan from bank equivalent to cad $10,000 to $25,000 depends upon program selected.

COST OF EDUCATION

Tuition fees for canadian institutions diffrent from course to course & institution to institution. On an average, a student needs to pay a minimum of cad $10,000 to $12000 (approx) to as high as cad $35,000 per year.

Other than tuition fees, an international student would need to pay institution administration fees of around cad$100, international student application fees from around cad$250, compulsory fees for student services of cad $500-1,000 and processing fees for a study permit (currently cad$150 with a biometric processing fee of cad $85).

COST OF LIVING

For accommodation, students have a number of options available that can be on-campus or off-campus such as hostels, rented housing, host family etc. Cost of living for students in canada would be between can $8,000-12,000, depending upon the location.

WORK PROSPECTS

Under the current rules, student visa holders and their dependant family members (except masters by research or doctoral degree student dependants who can work full time), can work a maximum of 20 hours per week during the term time, and full time during vacation. From next year, all graduates, regardless of field of study, are eligible for:
